Kybella.
Targeted. Permanent. Non-surgical.

You've lost the weight. You've fixed the posture. You still tilt your chin up in every photo, and you've started angling the phone above your face without thinking about it. Some fullness under the chin is not about discipline. It's genetic, and no amount of anything moves it.
The line between chin and neck comes back.
That angle is what reads as a defined jaw. When fullness blurs it, the whole lower face loses its edge, regardless of your weight.
It's permanent.
Once destroyed, the fat cells in the treated area do not come back. Hold your weight and so does the result.
No surgery, and no scar.
A series of small injections during a lunch break, with swelling being the honest cost.
The mechanism, briefly. Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a molecule your own body makes to break down dietary fat. Injected into the pocket under the chin it disrupts the fat cell membranes, and your body clears the debris over the following weeks.
The profile you keep
avoiding in photos.
The change is to your side view, which is the angle you notice most and control least.
Mapped to the pocket, not the whole neck.
A grid is marked on the treatment area so the injections sit evenly across the fat pad and stay well clear of the structures around it.

Medical providers, not technicians.
Every Kybella treatment at Aether is performed by a licensed medical provider, not a trained assistant.
Honest candidacy screening.
Kybella® only works well for the right patient. If you are better served by a different treatment, or none at all, we will tell you at the consultation.
Authentic product, every time.
Only Kybella® sourced through Allergan/AbbVie's authorized distributors. Grey-market product never enters this building.
Discretion.
Our Rockville practice is designed for privacy: scheduled appointments, private treatment rooms.

Kybella
Allergan · per vialMost sessions use two to four vials, and your consult gives you the exact number before anything is booked.
Session 1
The full grid is treated. Swelling is at its most dramatic here.
Session 2
We reassess the pocket, then treat again.
Session 3
Only if there's still a pocket worth treating.
Session 4
The upper end. Some people never need it.
Screening, properly.
We assess fat versus skin versus muscle by hand, and we tell you which one you have. If it's not fat, we say so.
The grid.
A temporary grid is drawn on the treatment area and numbing is applied.
A series of small injections.
The injections themselves take about fifteen to twenty minutes.
Swelling, then settling.
Expect real swelling for several days. That swelling is the treatment working.
What to expect
20 to 30 minutes. A grid of small injections under the chin after numbing. Most people need 2 to 4 sessions spaced about 6 weeks apart.
Results and downtime
This one has real downtime, and we'll be honest about it: expect noticeable swelling under the chin for several days to 2 weeks per session. Results build over 2 to 3 months as your body clears the fat.
Common side effects
Swelling, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area are the most common side effects. They are expected, and they settle.
Serious but rare
Nerve injury in the jaw that can cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness, trouble swallowing, and injection site problems including bruising, hair loss, or open sores. Call your provider promptly if any of these appear.
Per the FDA label for KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid). Before treatment, tell your provider about any prior or planned surgery or cosmetic treatment on your face, neck, or chin, trouble swallowing, bleeding problems, blood thinners or other medications, and pregnancy or breastfeeding. Real results.

Who it suits, and who it doesn't.
Kybella is likely the right tool if
- There's a soft, pinchable pad under your chin that persists at a stable weight.
- It runs in your family and predates any weight change.
- The skin over it still snaps back when you pinch and release.
- You're at or near a weight you can hold, so the result will last.
- You'd rather avoid surgery and can accept swelling for a week or two.
Kybella is the wrong tool if
- The looseness is skin rather than fat. Skin tightening or a surgical consult is the honest answer.
- You have a visible platysmal band, the vertical cord that appears when you tense your neck. That's muscle.
- You're actively losing weight. Wait until you've held it for a few months.
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- There's an infection or a prior surgical change in the area we should assess first.
Common questions.
Noticeably. Several days of real puffiness under the chin. It's the most common reason people are surprised, which is why we say it before you book.
Then we tell you, and we don't sell you Kybella. We'll talk about skin tightening or refer you for a surgical opinion.
$700 per vial. Most sessions use two to four vials, and your consult gives you the exact number before anything is booked.
Everyone's chin is different. The FDA label allows up to six treatments spaced at least a month apart, and in clinical studies 59% of patients received six. Most Aether treatment plans run two to four sessions, and your consult gives you an honest number before you book.
